Home/Service Areas/Jackson County
Closest of the Mississippi counties and the most realistic to service regularly. Still carries the $1,500 minimum.
45-70 minutes each way with a machine on the trailer. On a short job that’s most of the working day gone before any clearing happens. Above $1,500 the arithmetic works for both of us; below it, either we lose money or you get a rushed job. We publish it rather than quietly padding the quote. Mobile and Baldwin counties are at the standard $1,000.
Flat coastal plain, wet in the flatwoods and along the Pascagoula River bottoms, firmer and sandier on the ridges back from the water. Vancleave and the ground north of it is the best working terrain in the county.
What’s typically growing on it: Slash and loblolly pine, live oak, water oak and sweetgum, with palmetto, wax myrtle and titi in the wet ground. Heavy Chinese privet and tallow on unmaintained parcels, and cogongrass is a recognised problem across south Mississippi.
Density, not acreage, is what sets a mulching price, and ground conditions decide whether a heavy machine should be on your property at all in a given week. See the published bands →
Rural acreage, larger residential parcels, pasture reclamation, hunting land and timber tract work, the parcels get bigger and the clearing competition thinner as you go north from the coast.
Jackson County for unincorporated ground; Pascagoula, Ocean Springs, Moss Point and Gautier each run their own. Mississippi’s state contractor licensing thresholds are separate from Alabama’s and apply to work performed in the state regardless of where the contractor is based. We work to a permit you hold, and we’ll tell you when we think you need one, but confirm with the jurisdiction, because we’re contractors, not the permit office. Permit guide →

Call and you get John Williams, not an answering service and not a dispatcher. If it’s after hours or a Sunday, send the form and you’ll have a text back and a callback first thing.
