If yours isn’t here, call and ask. It costs nothing and it’s usually a ninety-second answer.

Price and payment

Forestry mulching runs $1,500 to $3,400 an acre depending on density. Clearing to bare dirt with the plates pulled runs $3,000 to $6,000 an acre, because the material has to be handled rather than left on the ground. Full published bands are here.

$1,000, or $1,500 across a state line. Below that the mobilisation swallows the job. If yours is smaller, a tree service or a landscaper will do it better and cheaper, and we’ll tell you who to call.

30% is typical, and it’s stated on the written quote rather than sprung on you. Nothing is taken before you’ve seen and accepted a price. Full terms.

It doesn’t, unless the scope changes or we hit something genuinely invisible from the surface, buried concrete, a fill pit, a septic field nobody knew about. If that happens we stop and call you before spending another dollar. Full terms.

What we do, and what we don't

No. No houses, no mobile homes, no barns, no slabs. If there’s a structure on your parcel you’ll need a demolition contractor before or after us, and we can clear the ground around it either way.

No. We pull stumps and root plates out whole with the excavator. If you need a stump ground out of a finished lawn or tight to a house, call a tree service, it’s the right tool for that job and we’ll say so.

No installation work of any kind. We’ll clear a fence line so your fencing contractor can work it, and we’ll cut and shape a driveway, but we don’t install the fence or the culvert.

Neither. On a mulching job the material is ground and stays on your ground, that’s the point of mulching. On a full clearing job it gets mulched down or windrowed into a pile where you want it. We don’t haul debris off site, and any burning happens under a permit held in your name, not ours.

The mulching head takes stems up to about seven inches. Above that we fell it first, in open ground where it has room to drop. A tree over a house, a shed or a power line is rigging work for a certified arborist and we won’t touch it.

Time, travel and weather

The machine covers roughly three-quarters to one and a quarter acres a day depending on how thick it is. A typical residential lot is a day. Heavy privet can be a day an acre on its own. We give you a machine-day count in the written quote, not a vague window.

Gulfport, Mississippi to Baldwin County, Alabama, out of Coden, Alabama. All of Mobile and Baldwin counties at the standard $1,000 minimum. Mississippi carries a $1,500 minimum, because ninety minutes each way with a machine on the trailer doesn’t work on a small job.

Light rain, usually yes. After several days of it, no, soft ground means ruts, and ruts on your property are permanent in a way the rain isn’t. We’ll reschedule rather than damage the land. Our weather policy is published.

No, and we’re not going to claim otherwise. One operator, Mon-Sat, 6am to 5pm. If you call outside that you’ll get a text back and a call first thing. Several outfits on this coast advertise 24/7, ask them who exactly is answering at 2am.

Permits and insurance

It depends on where the property sits and what you’re doing. Municipality, county, and, since we work in two states, which state. Wetlands bring in federal jurisdiction regardless of who else is involved. We’ve written up what we know, but confirm with the jurisdiction, because we’re contractors, not the permit office.

$1,000,000 general liability through Alfa, plus commercial auto and equipment coverage. Details are published rather than claimed in a footer. Ask for the certificate, any contractor who hesitates at that question is telling you something.

Tell us what's on the ground. We'll come look at it.

Call and you get John Williams, not an answering service and not a dispatcher. If it’s after hours or a Sunday, send the form and you’ll have a text back and a callback first thing.
