Downed timber, blowdown and hung limbs cleared off your property after a storm. We’ll give you an honest date. We will not tell you we’re available at 2am, because we aren’t.
Several outfits in this market advertise around-the-clock emergency response. We’re not going to match a claim we can’t honour. After a significant storm every clearing contractor in the county is booked, and the useful thing we can do is tell you truthfully where you sit in the queue and what day we can be there. That’s a worse answer than ‘right away’ and it’s the one you can plan around.
Those are rigging jobs for a certified arborist with the right equipment, and doing them with a clearing machine is how people get hurt. Once the dangerous material is down and on the ground, that’s our work.
Usually the first priority, the drive, the road in, the route to the barn or the well.
Clear downed timber off pasture, fields, food plots and around structures.
Mulch the blowdown where that’s the sensible answer, which avoids a burn pile and a haul-off bill.
Windrow and pile for burning under your permit or for a hauler to collect.
Clear snapped and damaged stems from a stand so what’s left has room.
Pull the plates from uprooted trees: a root plate turned on its side is a genuine hazard in a field, and we take them out whole rather than grinding.
Reopen firebreaks and camp roads blocked by blowdown.
If you’re claiming, photograph everything before anyone touches it, wide shots and close shots, and get the date on them. We’ll photograph our own work as we go and give you a written scope and invoice that itemises what was done. Ask your adjuster what they need before we start rather than after.
The properties that come through a storm best are the ones where the ground around the structures was already clear, the access road was already open, and the dead and leaning stems had already been taken out. Late May is the sensible time to look at that. Storm prep guide →
Depends entirely on how widespread the damage was. After a county-wide event, every contractor is booked and we will not pretend otherwise. Call and we’ll give you a real date.
No. We’re Mon-Sat, 6am to 5pm, one operator. Working a machine in downed timber in the dark is how people get hurt.
No: call a certified arborist with rigging equipment. Once it’s on the ground we’ll clear it.
Often, within limits, and it varies by policy. Ask your adjuster before work starts and keep photographs from before anything is moved.
Mulched on site where the machine can reach it, otherwise windrowed into a pile where you want it. We do not haul debris off site. After a widespread storm that’s usually academic anyway, disposal capacity across the whole coast is stretched for weeks and mulching in place is both faster and cheaper.
Call and you get John Williams, not an answering service and not a dispatcher. If it’s after hours or a Sunday, send the form and you’ll have a text back and a callback first thing.
