Boundary and cut lines opened so a surveyor can shoot them. Usually there’s a closing or a permit waiting on it, which means the date matters more than the price.
A surveyor working a rural boundary has to see from one point to the next. In fifteen-year growth with greenbrier through it, they can’t, so either they spend hours with a machete at survey rates, or somebody opens the line first.
Almost nobody in this county advertises this service. Surveyors know it needs doing and usually leave the client to find someone. That’s a gap, and it’s why we’ve put a page on it.
The most common case by far.
The survey is a condition and the survey needs the lines.
Where the line actually runs matters and nobody can see it.
New interior lines to establish.
The buyer needs to know precisely what they’re buying.
Cheaper to find the line than to move a fence.
We cut where we’re told to cut, based on a survey, a plat, coordinates or existing flagging that you or your surveyor provide. We are not surveyors and we don’t guess at a line. If you don’t know where the boundary runs, the surveyor comes first and we follow.
These jobs almost always have a date attached: a closing, a permit, a survey crew already booked. Tell us the date when you call and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can hold it. If we can’t, we’ll say so on the phone rather than three days out.
Ask your surveyor, but three to four feet is usual for sight and access. Six to eight if it’s going to double as a fence line later, worth doing once.
No. We’re not surveyors. We cut to coordinates, a plat, or flagging you or your surveyor provide. Cutting a line based on a guess is how boundary disputes start.
That’s usually the point. Give us the coordinates or the plat and we’ll open the line so their crew can work at survey speed instead of clearing speed.
We give these priority because they’re almost always on a clock. Call with the date and we’ll tell you straight whether it’s possible.
Call and you get John Williams, not an answering service and not a dispatcher. If it’s after hours or a Sunday, send the form and you’ll have a text back and a callback first thing.
