Taking the humps, ruts, old furrows and washouts out of ground so it can be mowed, driven, grazed or built on. Rough grade: not an engineered pad.
Clearing leaves it rough; levelling makes it usable.
Old field furrows and bedding rows from ground that was farmed or planted in pine and never smoothed out.
Ruts from equipment, vehicles or livestock.
Washouts and erosion scars after a wet season.
Yard and paddock levelling so it can be mowed without losing a deck.
Spreading spoil from stump plates, pond work or clearing.
We level ground so it drains sensibly and can be worked, mowed or driven. What we do not do is build a pad to an engineered specification, hit a stated tolerance, or provide compaction testing. If your builder, your engineer or your permit requires a certified pad, that’s a grading contractor with the equipment and the testing to prove it, and you’ll want them, not us. We’d rather lose the job than fail the density test.
We don’t cut ditches or design drainage.
Grading changes where water goes, and that has consequences we’re not prepared to create on your behalf.
Levelling generally works with the dirt already on site, cutting the high spots into the low ones. If the site needs material brought in, you’ll need it delivered and we’ll spread it: see fill, topsoil and gravel. We don’t supply or haul material.
Levelling wet ground makes a mess and the result doesn’t hold. This is the service most likely to get pushed a week for weather, and we’ll tell you that on the phone rather than turn up and smear your property around. See our weather policy.
We can rough grade the cleared ground. We can’t build and certify an engineered pad to a compaction specification, that needs a grading contractor with testing behind it.
No. We don’t do drainage design, ditching or French drains. We can level ground so it doesn’t hold water in obvious low spots, which is a different and much smaller claim.
We don’t supply or haul it. Have it delivered and we’ll spread and level it.
Rough grade: walkable, mowable, drivable, draining sensibly. Not a tolerance you could measure with a laser and hold us to. If you need that, you need a different contractor.
Call and you get John Williams, not an answering service and not a dispatcher. If it’s after hours or a Sunday, send the form and you’ll have a text back and a callback first thing.
